Cabinet Minister Balbir Sidhu Flags off Sewer suction-cum-jetting machines worth Rs. 1.45 crore

Minister also Lays the foundation stone of various development works to the tune of Rs.1.50 crores

Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu Flags off 4 Sewer-Suction-cum-jetting machines here at Phase-5 today. The machines are purchased with the cost of Rs 1.45 crore.These machines include two-sewer suction-cum-jetting machines, one-mini super suction machine and one-mini jetting machine.
Minister said that in order to completely stop the manual scavenging in the district the jetting machines are handed over to the municipal corporation. Earlier we had to arrange these machines from Chandigarh for cleaning of sewers. Now people don’t have to wait for long for the sewer to be cleaned.
Minister also lays the foundation stone of various development works worth Rs 1.50 crores in the various sectors of the City.
“A series of development works are underway and numerous development projects have been done under the able leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh” said Health and Family Welfare Minister S. Balbir Singh Sidhu while laying the foundation of various development works of the society like renovation of parks, installation of LED lights and paver blocks.
The details of these works includes 14.82 Lakh at SCL Employees Cooperative House Building Society in Sector-70, Rs. 3.63 lakh at Ivory Tower, Rs. 29.76 Lakh at Rishi Apartment for beautification of Paver Block and LED lights and parks. Rs. 25.70 Lakh at Darshan Vihar Society in Sector-86, Rs. 23.96 Lakh at United Cooperative Society, Rs. 15.43 Lakh at Mohali Employees Cooperative Society, Rs. 5.59 Lakh at Climate Vihar Society in Sector 67, Danga Peedit Cooperative Society includes development works worth Rs. 31 lakh 79 thousand.
Further the Minister said that earlier no Government paid heed to the internal development of these private societies. When the people living here pay all kinds of taxes to the government then why can’t the government do development work for the facilities of the people living in these societies. But under the able leadership of Captain Amrinder Singh our Government passed the resolution and spent money from the exchequer for the internal development of the private societies.
He also thanked the Local Government Minister Mr. Brahm Mahindra under whose able leadership the resolutions for the development works of the city have been passed.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister’s Political Secretary and Chairman Market Committee Kharar Mr. Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhli Kalan, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Dr. Kamal Kumar Garg, Chief Engineer Local Government Department Mr. Mukesh Garg was also present.
