Sixteen law schools participated in Leiden Sarin International Air Law Moot Court competition
National Law University, Jodhpur; National Law University, Delhi; and West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences won the national round Dhruv Khanduri wins Sarin Mooter of the Year Award

The 16th edition of LEIDEN Sarin International Air Law Moot Court Competition opened here today at Army Institute of Law. Former chief justice of Allahabad High Court, Justice S.S. Sodhi presided over the function, who is also the President of the Sarin Memorial Legal Aid Foundation, which had been regularly organising the moot court competition to train the budding lawyers in effectively handling litigation. Senior advocate and former advocate general of Punjab, and secretary general of the Foundation, M.L. Sarin, informed that sixteen teams from the top national law universities of India participated for the Indian national round, and the winning teams will get to participate in the International Moot Court Competition on 27-29 April at Athens, Greece .
The Sarin Foundation announced its Best Mooter of the Year Award, and Justice Sodhi, M.L. Sarin, Trustee Nitin Sarin, and Principal of AIL Dr Tejinder Kaur, conferred on the fourth year student of AIL, Dhruv Kandhuri (20), from Dehradun, which comprise a scholarship of Rs.50,000, and a trophy.
Sarin Memorial Legal Aid Foundation was was established in memory of late Shri H.L. Sarin, and Late Shri R.L. Sarin, which is managed by young lawyers and law students to spread legal literacy and take up causes of general public importance for legal redressal, besides training young lawyers in air law through international moot court competition, he said.
Trustee of the Sarin Foundation, Nitin Sarin, an expert lawyer on aviation law and alumni of Army Law Institute, advised the students to be honest, hardworking, passionate, and inquisitive to question the things around, and learn through travelling to different parts of the country and the world, to be able to gain better insight.
Nitin said that aviation law is the emerging field in the legal domain and this is the only moot court competition held in the world helping the aviation industry to get specialised legal support.
Dr. Tejinder Kaur, Principal of the Army Institute of Law, commended the Sarin Foundation for giving the students an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of litigation by holding Moot Court competitions year after year.
National Law University, Jodhpur; National Law University, Delhi; and West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences won the national round and have qualified to participate in the finals of the international moot court university in Athens, Greece, this year in April.
