DC Isha Kalia conducts surprise inspection at public offices

DIRECTS STAFF TO SETTLE ALL APPLICATIONS IN TIME-BOUND MANNER

Nabaz-e-Punjab, Mohali, September 24:
Reiterating the firm commitment of the district administration to ensure citizen-centric services to people in a time-bound and hassle-free manner, Deputy Commissioner Isha Kalia on Friday conducted a surprise check at various offices situated in District Administration Complex Sector-76.
Deputy Commissioner visited the various service delivery counters of Farad Kendra, Suvidha Kendra, RTI office, Tehsil and other offices and interacted with the public there while taking their valuable feedback. She also reviewed the various phases of citizen-centric services from issuing of a token number to delivery of the service there.
She asked the management of the Sewa and Suvidha Kendra to ensure that every operator on the counter brief the people about the requirement of the documents for the services in detail so that people do not run pillar to post for availing the service.
Ms. Isha Kalia also said that services must be provided to people within stipulated time frame after getting the token, adding that this norm must be implemented in the right earnest. She also directed them to ensure that more chairs were made available for the people to sit in all the public offices when they come for their work.
Accompanied by ADC (G) Ms. Komal Mittal, ADC (D) Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, AC (G) Tarsem Chand, the Deputy Commissioner said that Sewa and Suvidha Kendras were opened by the state government to facilitate the people and any sort of laxity on their parts would not be tolerated at any cost. She said that such surprise inspections would be carried out regularly to keep hawk-eye vigil on the working at these Kendras.

Ms. Kalia said that the zero-tolerance policy is being adopted against any sort of inordinate delay by the public offices and stern action would be taken against the management of concerned office. She also asked the staff working in the Kendras to be polite and courteous to people as they were here to serve them. The work distribution among the staff members must be done properly to streamline the system, she added.
