Three hard-core criminals of ‘Kachha Gang’ held, were accused in 13 cases including 4 murders

The district police today have arrested three associates of the criminal “Kacha Banyan/Kala Kacha” inter-state gang who were involved in sensational crimes in Punjab and Haryana. More than a dozen unsolved crimes have been traced with their arrest, informed Satinder Singh, SSP, Mohali.
The arrested persons have been identified as Matching, a resident of Muradabad, Wasim, a resident of Uttar Pradesh and Ramjaan alias Kura, a resident of Baddi in Himachal Pradesh. As per the police, 13 criminal cases have been traced with their arrest which includes four blind murders.
Mohali SSP informed that an incident which took place at Mullanpur on October 15 this year when a gang of robbers struck at two different farm houses at village Majra here. In this attack, the accused murdered one of the family members, who belonged to Nepal and injured other family members. They also looted gold ornaments and cash from the farm house. On same night, this gang also attacked another farm house and injured family members who belonged to Bihar, looted gold ornaments and cash in the same manner. A case was registered in this regard under Sections 458, 342, 380, 460, 506 IPC at the Mullanpur police station.
During the investigation, it was discovered that this incident was carried out by criminal “Kacha Banyan/Kala Kacha” gang of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarkhand. After investigating for period of more than one month, it came to light that this inter-state gang was also involved in this murder. So, efforts were made to trace the gang, said the SSP.
During preliminary interrogation of accused, they have confessed to be involved in more than 20 criminal incidents including four murders in Punjab and Haryana. They made their base at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh and used to strike in different parts of Punjab and Haryana. These gang members were wanted in major crimes of neighbouring states. One of the arrested accused (Matching) was declared as a PO (proclaimed offender) since 2013 in a case registered in Kapurthala.
