Sidhu expresses deep anguish over the unfortunate demise of two farmers in the road accident

Expressing deep anguish over unfortunate demise of two farmers in the road accident at Bhagomajra, Mohali late last evening, Health and Labor Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said that it is indeed sad that two precious lives of Punjabi Farmers are lost in the fatal accident.
Inquiring into the health of survivors under treatment at Civil Hospital Mohali, the Minister ordered free of cost treatment and proper care of the injured. Notably, Sukhdev Singh (70) of village Dadiana and Deep Singh (65) of village Popna succumbed to injuries while three farmers with grave injuries including spine injury have been referred to PGI Chandigarh and three others are under treatment at Civil Hospital Mohali.
These farmers were returning from Delhi after participating in farmers protest. At around 9 pm, their pickup truck on which they were traveling collided with a truck laden with gravel, near Bhagomajra village here following which two farmers died while seven got injured.
Inspector Daljit Singh Station House Officer of Sohana police station said, “We have conducted the post mortem of both the persons today at the Civil Hospital in Phase 6. A case under Sections 279, 337, 304-A and 427 of the IPC has been registered against the unidentified truck driver. The owner of the truck has been identified through its registration number and the driver will be identified soon. The truck was already impounded.”
Meanwhile, the cabinet minister Charanjit Singh Channi today asked Mohali Deputy Commissioner to send the case report to the chief minister so that the victim’s kin will be provided with the compensation.
