Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said Ashok Kumar posted at village Bahadurpur, BDPO office at Sangrur was caught red handed. He said the accused was accepting bribe of Rs. 70,000 from Mr. Jagdeesh Rai, a complainant of Cheema Mandi, tehsil Sunam district Sangrur. Giving details he said the complainant approached the VB and alleged that the above named accused was demanding bribe of Rs. 77000 to release payment in lieu of installation of 7 submersible pumps. After verifying his complaint the VB team laid a trap and both the accused was caught red handed and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the accused at VB police station Patiala and further investigation was under progress.
