Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said StateTaxation Officer (STO) Gurjeet Singh posted at ward no.-2, Jalandhar-1 was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Advocate Raju Ambedkar of Ram Vihar, Jalandhar. The Complainant has approached the VB and that accused Gurjeet Singh STO was demanding Rs. 20000 for issuing the final assessment order of his firm and the deal was struck at Rs. 13000. After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused State Taxation Officer was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 13000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Jalandhar and further investigation was under progress.
