Now challan will reach your home on violating traffic rules

With a leap forward to modernization, Mohali Traffic Police have find-out a way to tackle traffic violators with adoption of new modus operandi to send the challans to their houses. Divulging the details here today, Superintendent of Police (Traffic), District SAS Nagar Mr. Gurjot Singh PPS said that under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police, District SAS Nagar Mr. Satinder Singh, Mohali Traffic Police have chalked out comprehensive plan to strictly deal with traffic violators. He informed that keeping in view the road safety of the general public, CCTV cameras have been installed at various light points in District SAS Nagar and traffic violators (Red light Jump, W/Seat Belt, Zebra Crossing, Over Speed, W/Helmet etc.) are being closely monitored.
He mentioned that after caught them through these camera, the challan receipts to be sent to their home addresses. he informed that a total of 104 traffic challans have been issued against the drivers violating the traffic rules in the urban areas of District SAS Nagar from door to door with the help of CCTV cameras from August 1, 2021 to till date. In addition, the home addresses of a total of 11 drivers violating the traffic rules have not been properly found and regarding this it has been sent in writing to the concerned Regional Transport Authority. Vehicles of drivers whose home address has been found to be incorrectly registered will be impounded as per law. Therefore in future if any driver is found violating the traffic rules then with the help of CCTV cameras the challans will be deducted from the door to door of those drivers according to the traffic rules.

Mr. Gurjot Singh also pointed out that lakhs of people are involved in road accidents across the country due to non-compliance of traffic rules as per Traffic Rule guidelines. The Traffic Education Cell, Mohali and Traffic Police, Mohali have been arranging meetings from time to time to make the public aware of the traffic rules for the safeguard of their own and others lives.
